Students are encouraged to meet regularly and maintain contact with their academic advisors throughout their university career to discuss their course of study, and to go over their academic interests and career plans. Continued contact with an advisor can help students develop and maintain an academic program that is consistent with their interests and to stay on track for graduation.
Schedule an Advising Appointment
All advising in Data Science is currently remote.
Data Science advisors are eager to meet with you to answer questions about major declaration, major requirements, course scheduling, and anything else we can do to help you have a successful experience in Data Science at the UO.
For advising questions, including making an appointment with a DSCI faculty advisor, please email dsciadvising@uoregon.edu. An advisor will respond to you as soon as possible.
Tykeson College and Career Advising
Tykeson College and Career Advising is the academic and career advising destination for students who:
- Have not yet declared a major, referred to as exploring students
- Are declared majors and minors in the College of Arts and Science
- Are considering another major or exploring other majors
- Want to explore career options and opportunities
Students with declared majors and minors in the College of Arts and Sciences should also continue to seek advice from faculty when they are looking for specific information about their chosen major or detailed information about their major department and it’s curricular offerings.
Tykeson advising is organized by Flight Paths. Data Science majors are in the Scientific Discovery and Sustainability Flight Path.
