Co-op Program Overview

The co-op program is an integral, curriculum-connected component of the master's degree in Cybersecurity. Through this experience, students have the opportunity to interview with and receive offers from one or more of our partner organizations—industry leaders in cybersecurity and related fields. Successful candidates engage in a paid, three-quarter professional placement that immerses them in real-world cybersecurity operations.

This extended, hands-on experience offers several key benefits:

  1. Practical Skill Development: Students apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges, building critical technical and professional skills in an operational environment.
  2. Career Readiness: The co-op experience provides a seamless transition from academia to the workforce, giving students a competitive edge in the job market.
  3. Financial Support: Paid positions help offset tuition and living expenses, making the program more affordable.

Many students continue working with their co-op employer after graduation, and a significant number receive full-time job offers from the organizations that host their placements. The co-op program is more than just work experience—it’s a direct pathway to a successful cybersecurity career.
