The Computer Science Department at the University of Oregon has a long and distinguished history of externally funded research and an extensive publication record in various areas of cybersecurity—including network security, systems security, software security, and cryptography.In 2025, the department earned the prestigious Center of Academic Excellence in Research (CAE-R) designation from the National Security Agency (NSA), recognizing UO’s leadership and impact in advancing cybersecurity research and education.
