The Teaching Security Operations Center (TSOC) offers a comprehensive suite of Managed Detection and Response (MDR) cybersecurity services to support Oregon-based public sector organizations—including counties, cities, school districts, and special districts—at low or no cost.Leveraging a hybrid service model, TSOC combines cutting-edge, AI-integrated tools from industry-leading vendors (such as SentinelOne) with on-premises services. This approach allows us to efficiently scale our support, expand our client base, and train the next generation of cybersecurity professionals—without compromising on service quality or educational value.

Offered Services

Log and Network Monitoring

  • 24/7 AI-powered threat detection and automated device isolation (comprehensive Endpoint Detection and Response–EDR)
  • Real-time alerting, triage, and containment of security threats

Incident Response (IR)

  • Analyst-led response to malware, phishing, and other cyber incidents during business hours (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday–Friday)
  • Detailed incident reports and tailored post-incident recommendations

Vulnerability Management

  • Regular scanning for network and endpoint exposures
  • Risk prioritization using industry-standard scoring, with actionable remediation guidance

Attack Surface Management (ASM)

  • External scans to identify shadow IT, misconfigured assets, and other vulnerabilities
  • Recommendations to reduce risk and strengthen your organization’s security posture

Threat Intelligence (TI)

  • Aggregation of open-source threat intelligence feeds
  • Correlation of threat data with member environments to enhance situational awareness
