Academic Advising and Support

Advisors are eager to meet with students in the School of Computer and Data Sciences (SCDS) to answer questions about major declaration, major requirements, course scheduling, and anything else we can do to help you have a successful experience at the University of Oregon.

Because SCDS is part of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), students are advised by CAS Academic Advising in Tykeson Hall. SCDS departmental faculty also provide guidance on courses and ideal academic paths. You are encouraged to meet regularly and maintain contact with your academic advisors throughout your course of study, and to go over your academic interests and career plans. Continued contact with an advisor can help you develop and maintain an academic program that is consistent with your interests and to stay on track for graduation.

CAS College and Career Advising

CAS Academic Advising is the academic and career advising destination for students who:

  • Are declared majors and minors in CAS
  • Are considering a major in CAS

Students with declared majors and minors in CAS should also continue to seek advice from faculty when looking for specific information about your chosen major or detailed information about your major department and its curricular offerings.

You can schedule an appointment with CAS Academic Advising via Navigate, email Naturalsci Advising, or call to book an appointment through Tykeson Hall Reception: 541-346-9200.
